In this regard, the publishing of Nova Scientia –the University’s research journal- supports the dissemination and socialization of knowledge, promoting the development of a scientific culture for the benefit of all.

Today, perhaps the greatest problem humanity it is facing it is the pandemic of COVID-19, produced by the worldwide spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Throughout over six months since the first case was detected, it has been published a myriad of information on the subject, which has allowed to a better understanding of the challenge we are facing, and advance in the search for effective and long-term solutions of general scope.

Constantly, new research results are being published that contribute to the design of renewed and updated strategies to the detection and understanding of the virus. Work is also being done to the improvement of measures for the care and treatment of infected patients, and strategies are designed to help the safe return to the regular activities of the population. The key is to inform any available information on this matter as soon as possible, without neglecting veracity or scientific rigor

There are several research groups in Mexico that study the subject from different approaches. These groups study the origin, evolution, detection, treatment, and socio-economic impact of the pandemic, including its effects in education. We consider essential, not only the creation of new knowledge around the crisis we are facing, but its publication and availability for the benefit of all the community.

For this reason, and in accordance with the multidisciplinary nature of Nova Scientia journal, we value as necessary the creation of a space to the multidisciplinary scientific contributions related to the COVID-19 matter.
